Connecting children with nature

We are delighted to share some wonderful news - this year, our nursery children have been deeply involved in our ongoing Woodland Trust sustainability project, and thanks to their enthusiasm, curiosity, and love of the outdoors, we are proud to announce that we have achieved our Platinum Award!

This project has been all about fostering a meaningful connection with the natural world. Through outdoor exploration, hands-on experiences, and plenty of time spent in green spaces, the children have developed a growing awareness of trees, wildlife, and the importance of caring for our planet. Their excitement when discovering a new bug, spotting a changing leaf, or finding the perfect climbing tree has been truly inspiring.

To celebrate this achievement, we would love to invite our families to join us in embracing the beauty of Spring. Spending even a small moment outdoors can help strengthen children’s appreciation of nature, and we’re delighted to share some of the activities that helped us reach Platinum status. These included hosting a tree party with songs and stories beneath the branches, enjoying picnics in the shade, and taking magical trips to Holywell woodland, where children observed nature from all kinds of perspectives - whether that meant climbing trees, exploring fallen leaves, or lying on their tummies like little bugs to see the world from a different angle.

A huge well done to all of our children and to our dedicated team for their hard work, creativity, and passion for protecting our Earth. This award reflects our shared commitment to nurturing a love for nature, and we couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved together.

Let’s continue celebrating trees, exploring the outdoors, and caring for the world around us - today and every day.
